![]() Counselling and Therapy in the Stafford AreaWhy Counselling? Many people experience times when it feels like life is a difficult uphill struggle. We often turn to friends and family to support us, but sometimes we need more than this. Counselling gives you a space to explore your thoughts and feelings, to be listened to, to offload and explore issues you are struggling with that perhaps lead you to feel frustration, anger and emotional pain. Through engaging in counselling, you can explore the issues you may be struggling with in a non-judgemental, confidential and safe environment. Counselling can help you to discover why you are experiencing the issues you are struggling with and what triggers these situations and feelings. It can be a great opportunity to try out new ways of relating, gain control of your life and move forward. Through counselling, you can explore painful feelings, thoughts and patterns of behaviour and find new, healthier ways of being with increased self awareness. Counselling can last for a short or long period depending on the nature of the issue that you wish to address. This will be mutually agreed through discussion in our first appointment or two. What Benefits can be Expected? Counselling provides a supportive relationship where you can gain awareness about yourself and how you to relate to others. You can discover new perspectives , new possibilities and strengths that were hidden before. Ultimately counselling can help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, to feel whole, to love yourself, accept yourself and to help you to trust and believe in yourself. Counselling provides a dedicated space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviour. As therapist, I will accompany you on this internal journey listening attentively and seeking to fully understand what is being said and how your experience has lead you to be how you are in the here and now. Counselling challenges you to explore your deep seated fears and anxieties, to gain understanding, increase your self-esteem and confidence to enable you to live life more fully. What counselling is not: Counselling does not provide an instant solution or a quick fix. As your therapist, I will not aim to give advice, instead I will aim to enable you to trust yourself and find your own answers. | |
